Chipdesign Germany Forum 2026

We presented our projects at the Chipdesign Germany Forum in Dresden.

Chipdesign Germany

This year, our group participated in the Chipdesign Germany Forum, a flagship event that brings together chip design experts from across Germany to share the latest advances in research. The conference was an excellent opportunity to engage with the community and to witness the growing role that open-source tools and methodologies play in shaping the state of the art.

The two keynotes were among the highlights of the event. Christian Ospelkaus delivered an overview of ion-based quantum processors, while Laurence W. Nagel presented “The Life of SPICE” — a fascinating account of the origin and evolution of the very first EDA tool.

Our Contributions to the Event

We presented our work within the DE:Sign-Initiative. Prof. Dr. Stefan Wallentowitz, together with Johanna Wallenborn (GI), presented the project DI-OCDCpro “From Challenge to Chip: Hands-on Learning with the LAYR Open Chip Challenge”. This was followed by a talk by Tobias Wölfel on DI-OSVISE “Verification of Instruction Set Extensions made easy”.

In addition to this we presented two posters, ININV and OSVISE.

The poster sessions provided an excellent forum for in-depth discussions about our work and offered valuable insights into the other projects presented at the event.
